BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) has recognized Alcorn State forward Reginal Johnson as the SWAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his outstanding performance during week 15 of the regular season.

Johnson averaged 18.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game to lead Alcorn State to a 2-0 week. Johnson is the leading scorer on a team that’s won 10 games in a row, which is the sixth-longest active winning streak in the nation.

The forward shot .680 (17-of-25) from the field over the two games and he has scored at least 12 points in 24 of the last 25 games. On Monday, he registered a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds against Alabama A&M as he went 11-for-17 from the field.

The junior ranks fourth in the conference in points per game (15.9), sixth in rebounding per game (7.0), third in field goal percentage (.543) and 11th in free throw percentage (.740).
