Baltimore, MD, January 23, 2017: Baltimore’s only recurring love and erotica spoken word venue returns as Simply Sherri hosts Heard Through the Grapevine, Friday, February 3, 2017 at Peace and a Cup of Joe, 713 W. Pratt St., Baltimore, MD 21201. Doors open at 7:00pm, and the poetry begins at 8:00pm. The lively event, featuring Rebecca Dupas, includes an always-surprising open mic! The cover is $10.00.
The feature poet, Ms. Dupas, is a Louisiana native and Maryland educator, photographer, PhD student, and award-winning poet. She is the founder and creative director of A DOSE OF DUPAS, an event-based poetry company that houses several live arts events as well as writers’ development programs. With four CDs and a book of original works entitled The Exchange to her credit, Rebecca has appeared on Centric, Fox 5, OneMicTV.com, C- Span and PBS News.
The entry fee includes a wine sampling from Sangria Sangria, available to purchase by the glass afterward. Peace and a Cup of Joe will have their varied menu ready, and Chuck the Mad Ox will provide the musical setting!
California born and Maryland raised, Simply Sherri started writing in 2001 and started reciting her work in 2008 in her poetic home of Baltimore. With topics ranging from love and relationships to depression and verbal abuse, her writing style is easy going and a reflection of her world.
