BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 14, 2016)-The Morgan State bowling team took part in the first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Northern Division event of the season over the weekend and went 4-4.

The Lady Bears (10-10, 4-4 MEAC) began the conference season going 2-2 on Saturday, Nov. 12 during the traditional games. Morgan State came out the gates taking down Howard by a score of 858-828 and then beat Maryland Eastern Shore, 963-865. However, Morgan State would drop its next two matches, falling to host Coppin State (810-839) and Delaware State (848-1032).

On Sunday, the Lady Bears shifted to Baker play and their losing skid would reach four straight, as they would drop their first two Baker games. Morgan State would fall to Maryland Eastern Shore (733-948) and Delaware State (814-898). The Lady Bears would regroup and close out the event winning their final two matches, defeating Howard (821-795) and Coppin State (834-774).

Kiersten Bateman led the Lady Bears with a total of 723 pins for an average of 180.7. Bateman rolled a high game of 203 against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Ashley Porter added 722 pins (180.5 average). Porter tallied a high game of 197 against Coppin State.

Morgan State will be off until they compete in the second MEAC Northern Division competition held Dec. 3-4, 2016.
