MEAC To Honor 8 Norfolk State Graduating Senior Student-Athletes At Outdoor Track & Field Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – A total of eight student-athletes from the Norfolk State University men’s and women’s track & field programs will participate in an on-field graduation ceremony on Friday at 1 p.m. during the 2017 MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships inside the North Carolina A&T State University football stadium.


The MEAC’s graduation initiative, which is in its third year, celebrates the academic accomplishments for student-athletes who will miss their respective campus graduations due to participating in various MEAC Championships. The ceremony will be shown via Facebook Live which is accessible though the MEAC’S Facebook Page with links also on www.MEACSPORTS.com.

“We want to salute these eight student-athletes who have earned their collegiate degrees while maintaining their athletic commitment to their institution, teammates and coaches,” MEAC Commissioner Dennis Thomas said. “Although they do not get to celebrate with their class at their institution, we are excited to recognize these student-athletes for their hard work and dedication in the classroom and hopes this ceremony, in their honor, shows our gratitude for their dedication to procuring their degrees.”
