MEAC ANNOUNCES WEEKLY WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HONORS

NORFOLK, Va.Howard red-shirt senior Te’Shya Heslipwas selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Howard teammate Imani Bryant was named Rookie of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week.

Heslip (G, 5-5, r-Sr., Dumfries, Va.) averaged 15.0 points, 6.5 assists, 5.5 steals, 3.0 rebounds and 0.5 blocks against Illinois-Chicago and Fairleigh Dickinson. She posted 11 points, including her career 1,000th point, in a victory over Fairleigh Dickinson.

Bryant (F, 6-1, Fr., Berkeley, Calif.) totaled 28 rebounds, 23 points, eight blocks, three steals and two assists against Illinois-Chicago and Fairleigh Dickinson. She notched 19 points, nine boards, six blocks and one steal in a win over Fairleigh Dickinson.

Other Top Nominations:

Ciani Byrom (MDES) recorded 16 points and a game-high three steals against Virginia.

Moengaroa Subritzky (MDES) registered a game-high 20 points, including four 3-pointers, against Virginia
