“This is my first experience with “Let’s Get Serious & Recharge Health, Wellness, & Fitness Expo 2017. I have to be honest and say it has been PHENOMENAL! I was ecstatic when Mrs. Chere Goode asked me to be a part of her team.”

“Being on the planning committee, my role is to collaborate with the team to gain creative insights on ideas to make this Expo as successful as possible. My very first task was to draft a letter of invitation to our City and County Officials. That was the biggest challenge for me thus far. Writing that letter broke the ice for me. From that point on, I’ve been calling and emailing different Health Organizations for participation. I’m most proud of myself for arranging the Kaiser Permanente Mobile Health Vehicle, where I am currently employed, to participate by offering mini health assessments: BP, BMI, glucose, and cholesterol screenings.”

“I am a huge supporter because it is a great need in our community. EDUCATION IS THE KEY! People should attend the expo because it will give them a baseline of where they stand health wise, give them advice on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and encourage them to stay connected with their physician and dentist.”

“I am looking forward to seeing all the attendees come out and learn the importance of their health while having fun. Personally, I am looking forward to gaining more knowledge about healthy eating and meal preparations. I am also interested in the Zumba classes, and how to incorporate exercises that are safe for me to participate in. Lastly I cannot wait to meet our MC, Ms. April Watts, the original Boo Cakes!”

This year’s expo is Saturday May 27th, 2017.
