The Queen of Hearts Tour that recently came to Baltimore on November 5th was a heavy-hitting lineup that featured Ro James, Mary J Blige, and Maxwell. The night started off with Ro James as the opening act. The smooth bad boy lyrics and grooves he brought to the stage made the audience love his 2016 hit “Permission” even more, as he also introduced new singles “Already Knew”, “Holy Water” and others on his latest album.
Mary J Blige started the evening off with nothing but electricity and power! As she belted out hit to hit spanning 24 years from “What’s the 411?” to her latest hit “Thick of It”, the crowd responded and barely sat down for a moment. Very few artists have the ability to naturally bring fans on their emotional rollercoaster of pain and happiness throughout their show, but Mary does this effortlessly. It was amazing to see the crowd fasten their seatbelts and enjoy the ride.
Last but not least, Maxwell opened with a 8 minute video curtain introduction that drew the crowd in and set the perfect stage for this seasoned crooner. He raised the true meaning of grown and sexy to a new level as he interacted with the fans with sensual dance moves while singing his award winning hits like “Sumthin’ Sumthin”, “Ascension”, “…Til the Cops Come Knockin”, “Pretty Wings”, “This Woman’s Work”, and his more recent single, “Lake By the Ocean.
This was truly an amazing night of soulful R&B as a journey of love’s ups and downs through music. The King and Queen of Hearts tour is a must see tour! Be sure to catch it in your area before it wraps December 14th, visit www.ticketmaster.com for more information.
