Indie Soul Review: Introducing Stokely (Stokely) by Phinesse Demps

As much as I was excited to finally see that Stokely was going to release his solo project apart from Mint Condition, I was fearful that Mint Condition might not be no more. But after hearing this project, I must say that this is a true STANDING OVATION!

Stokely was able to separate his sound from MC but still entice you to come into his world by still giving you a few reminiscent tracks like the lead single Level. Another MC reminder is Think About U.

What we Stokely fans really love about him is the way he delivers one-of-a-kind slow jams. He doesn’t disappoint us either! The track, Organic, is a classic! The song is about falling for a woman for just who she is. Not one woman in the entire world is gonna ignore this song!

Stokely continues to show you a side of his soul and sound with songs like Cross The Line, Hold My Breathe, and Victoria.

Stokely also manages to bring along a few friends to help complete his first solo project: Art in Motion (Robert Glasper), U & I (Estelle), Way Up (Wale), and Wheels Up (Omi).

So fans that wanted a Stokely Solo got the long awaited solo and it is well worth the wait!
