ATLANTA (March 31, 2017) – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) is pleased to announce that its 2017 softball championship will take place May 4-6 at Diamond Lakes Regional Park in Hephzibah, Ga.
Over 300 tournaments and thousands of league games have been held at Diamond Lakes. Diamond Lakes has hosted two ASA National Tournaments, a USSSA Military World Series, and numerous athletic associations tournaments such as ASA, USSSA, SPA, NSA, ISA, GHSA, BPA, WFA, GRPA, USFA, Triple Crown Sports, Terry Pendleton Baseball, Lisa Fernandez Softball, and the Georgia Games.
The three-day event is free and open to the public. The championship will feature eight conference teams which will include the top four teams from the league’s east and west divisions.
The double-elimination tournament begins on Thursday, May 4 with two games at noon and two games at 2 p.m. Friday’s schedule will consist of eight games followed by the semifinals and championship games on Saturday, May. 6.
The 2017 SIAC softball champion will represent the league in the NCAA south regional on May 11-13.
