MONTGOMERY, Ala. – It was just one year ago today that Jasmine Peeples was in the midst of her senior season, a season that the Alabama State University women’s basketball team would go on to win the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship.
During her senior season, Peeples was a Second Team All-SWAC selection, and was rewarded for her play in the championship tournament by being named to the All-Tournament team. Peeples played in 31 games in 2015-16, averaging 7.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while also blocking 2.5 blocks per game.
And now … one year later … Peeples is playing overseas, signing a deal to play for Dynamo-NPU in Ukraine during January 2017.
In her first two games, Peeples has led the team two back-to-back victories while averaging 29.5 minutes and 15 points per game. In her first game of the season against Interkhim scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while blocking a shot and recording a pair of steals.
She followed that up with an 18-point performance against Tavriyska Zivka, while grabbing 11 rebounds to complete her first professional double-double. In that same game, Peeples dished out five assists, blocked a shot and recorded three steals.
