CONFECTIONARY ARTIST LAQUICHA BROWN BRINGS THE SWEET ALCHEMY OF CHOCOLATE-COVERED STRAWBERRIES TO FEDERAL HILL!

WHO: Ms. LaQuicha Brown, Confectionary Artist & Entrepreneur WHAT: Grand Opening Berries by Quicha WHERE: Berries by Quicha920 Light Street, Baltimore WHEN: Wednesday, February 1st, 2017 @ 11:30 a.m.

Baltimore native LaQuicha Brown is a creative person who has parlayed her creativity into a successful small business. Ms. Brown, the creator and business owner of Berries by Quicha, literally transformed a moment she described as “feeling bored” into a unique concept for creating delightful confection-covered strawberries.

“It was Valentine’s Day of 2014, and I was feeling bored. I love being creative, so I got into the kitchen and began experimenting with strawberries hand-dipped in chocolate, combining that with my unique, artistic designs. When people tasted my berry creations, I started getting requests for gift boxes for special occasions like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and eventually, with the support of my family, my pastor and first lady word of mouth spread quickly about my berry products…” Despite having no culinary experience, Ms. Brown, a Morgan State University graduate and mother of three, came up with a fantastic recipe for chocolate covered strawberries! Soon, her artistic, signature, chocolate-covered strawberries were presented at receptions for the Office of Baltimore City Council President, Bernard C. “Jack” Young, for Johns-Hopkins University, for the Under Armour company and the Reginald Lewis Museum. She also made a point of donating samples of her products to churches, schools, and local boys and girls clubs in her community.

This was never a dream of mine, to have a business like this. I was just blessed by God’s grace to use my creativity and find a unique success after opening my first Berries by Quicha at 5625 O’Donnell Street. Ive now opened my second store, here in the wonderful Federal Hill community! Her new, beautifully appointed Berries by Quicha store is located at 920 Light Street, and is open for business (even as Ms. Brown prepares for its grand opening, set for 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, February 1st!). Official attendees at grand opening will include Baltimore City Council President Bernard C. Jack Young, Councilman Eric Costello of Council District 11, and other invited guests.
